What are 'Catalyzer Events'?

Catalyzer Events are organized by ASPEL Country Directors to provide networking opportunities, access to leading-edge methodologies and techniques, and to encourage contribution to the wider community of learning professionals.

The term 'Catalyzer' has been selected to reflect the role of learning professionals within organisations and to highlight the primary purpose of such events.

Each event takes place over two to three hours in a weekday evening within the country three to four times a year.

Why attend a Catalyzer Event?

Catalyzer Events are designed to:

  • Help expand your horizons, whether that be in terms of industry trends, emerging methodologies, tips and techniques, or simply developing a more comprehensive view of what is happening in the field. To do this, we invite one or two experts to share their recent research and insights with the group. The objective is to help you maintain and develop your professional expertise
  • Provide a space and time for you to network with your peers. Word of mouth is by far the most effective way to ensure you make the right connections for the benefit of your organisation and/or your clients. By keeping the groups small (no more than 25 people) and a 'drinks' time, as well as having an optional dinner following the event itself, you can develop your network quickly and efficiently
  • Contribute to the wider community by continuously expanding the intellectual and social capital within the field for the benefit of all, especially those with restricted access to thought leaders.

Registering for a Catalyzer Event

Catalyzer Events are advertised in the ASPEL webzines and on the ASPEL site (under 'Events'). Search for an event near you, or if you would like to propose an event, please contact your Country Director - we welcome any suggestions!

You can register for an event either by clicking on the event in the list below and then clicking the 'I will go to this event' button at the foot of the page, or by contacting your Country Director.

Please note: If you have not pre-registered, and the maximum number of participants has been reached, you may not be able to attend.
